Safety in All Practices – At Work and at Play
Safety behaviors and practices are not only a core value of Marquette Transportation, but the cornerstone of our business.
Marquette takes an aggressive stance to ensure safe operations—from our vessels and equipment to our recruiting and training programs. Successful applicants are those who we believe will operate safely and perform knowledgeably. All offshore candidates must undergo a rigorous screening process, complete background checks, and acquire their TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential). We also physically screen our applicants to ensure they can meet the demands of the position for which they have applied.
Marquette is committed to the prevention of accidents and injuries throughout our organization. We implement an integrated curriculum of classroom, simulator and on-the-job training programs that stands as one of the more rigorous in the industry, as well as safety drills, regular inspections, and continuing education. As a matter of course, Marquette also conducts required U.S. Coast Guard and American Waterways Operator Responsible Carrier Program drills and training, as well as our own internally developed safety, security and environmental programs.
