Principal Responsibilities:

  • Formulate daily strategy to minimize down time, cost, etc., maximizing revenue.
  • Primary day-to-day customer communications interface ensuring customer requirements are understood and communicated to the organization.
  • Proactive communication with operations and vessels ensuring job requirements are input and understood. 
  • Effectively work problems creating safe operational solutions and customer value.
  • Develop job scope and pricing for customer requests.
  • Provide senior level management with up to date vessel earnings, market conditions, etc.
  • Plan vessel orders and job scheduling.
  • Prepare daily reports (i.e., traffic) for customers and the organization.
  • Communication and coordination of marine service vendors.
  • Manage voyage activity and costs to match job bid and orders.
  • Perform on-call rotation ensuring coverage after-hours and on holidays and weekends.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics or related field preferred.
  • 3-5 years in marine transportation with knowledge of tug and barge towing operations preferred.
  • Geographical knowledge of marine areas serviced.
  • Strong communication (both oral and written) and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail oriented with solid quantitative skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Process management and the ability to implement sustainable, end-to-end processes.
  • Approximately 20% travel to business unit and customer locations.
