At Marquette Transportation, we recognize that protecting the safety, security and health of our employees, our equipment and our environment is vital to operating a world-class organization.

That's why Marquette takes an aggressive stance to ensure that accidents and injuries are avoided and preventable through training.

As an industry leader in line-haul barge transportation, Marquette offers an integrated program of classroom, simulator and on-the-job training that stands as one of the most rigorous in the industry. We conduct required U.S. Coast Guard and American Waterways Operator Responsible Carrier drills and training, as well as our own internally developed safety, security and environmental training programs.

Marquette is an active member of the AWO and its Inter-Regional Safety Committee, as well as a member of the USCG License Renewal Process Quality Action Team. Our fleet is equipped with the latest in communication, information and navigational safety technologies, including River Pro, electronic navigation and charting, Furuno radars, Automated Identification System (AIS) technologies, and Operator Incapacitation Rudder Monitoring systems.
